LE STELLE DI LAMPEDUSA – Introduce Paola Andreoni, Assessore ai Servizi Sociali del Comune di Osimo<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A renderlo famoso \u00e8 stato il grande schermo, con \u201cFuocoammare<\/a>\u201d, il film-documentario dedicato al dramma degli sbarchi dei profughi a Lampedusa. Ma l\u2019impegno quotidiano di Pietro Bartolo per i migranti va avanti dal 1991: in questi ventotto anni di attivit\u00e0, nel difficile ruolo di ufficiale sanitario delle Isole Pelagie, il dott. Bartolo ha visitato e prestato assistenza a oltre 250mila immigrati, arrivati nell\u2019isola siciliana per fuggire alle guerre e alla povert\u00e0, in cerca di un futuro migliore per s\u00e9 e per i propri figli.
A pochi giorni dalla ricorrenza di una data fortemente simbolica quale \u00e8  la Giornata mondiale del Rifugiato, ho chiesto al  medico di Lampedusa \u2013 che da pochi mesi  \u00e8 parlamentare europeo \u2013 di portare alla nostra comunit\u00e0 la sua incredibile testimonianza di vita professionale e personale.
Invito tutta la cittadinanza<\/strong>, ad ascoltare le tante storie, (molte drammatiche, alcune a lieto fine), di cui il dott. Bartolo \u00e8 stato spettatore, e al tempo stesso protagonista.
Ho fortemente voluto questo incontro ( e il dott. Bartolo ha fatto l\u2019impossibile per essere presente nella nostra citt\u00e0) nella convinzione che questa testimonianza rappresenti una preziosa opportunit\u00e0 formativa per tutti noi.
